Going Strong Through Lockdown

It’s been 11 weeks since we took over the Fulford site in that time we have seen 2 lockdowns , a full refurbishment of the restaurant and Christmas.... (Gulp)

Staff recruitment and menu changes also. It’s fair to say that we have been rather busy... Like all small businesses we are very concerned about coronavirus and the daily impact on our business and the consequent Issues for a customers also.

Without doubt its been humbling, despite all the challenges we have managed to increase sales and launch our own App to grow online sales and the response has been incredible. The app has lots of benefits for our customers who gain loyalty points every time they order and can be redeemed for money to go towards the next purchase.

We are also on Just Eat. After nearly two months, we have finally managed to get the trading name changed over, and we are adding more York postcodes as our driver recruitment grows..

So what’s next ??

After legal delays, we finally take over the Acomb store, located in front street Acomb on the 1st February although its called Kings its not our brand or our menu, so we will rebrand to our signature blue logo, and totally rebrand the store immediately. We are really looking forward to serving our amazing fish and chips to the Acomb community.. Acomb will have its own App and delivery support the same as Fulford and both stores will have the same great menu offering the same great MSC sustainable fish and fresh chips, peeled and chipped every day.

Menu

We will also refine our menu for both stores to go live from the start of February, all the favourites remain, but we are adding what we hope will be NEW additional favourites.. all will be updated on the app, website, facebook and in store very soon.

We have recruited an amazing chef, and he’s keen to offer a bigger selection of seafood dishes which we will offer via our new specials menu coming soon. There will also be seafood theme nights in the restaurant, when we are allowed to open again, so look out for them.

Restaurant

As I said earlier we have invested in creating a lovely restaurant at Fulford, we opened just before lockdown 3 and we were just getting started, when we had to close again, all very frustrating, but we cannot wait to get the restaurant fully open and we will be offering much more then just amazing fish and chips. We intend to do restaurant theme nights offering amazing shellfish, lemon & Dover soles, seafood pasta, lobster bisque to name but a few.

So the next 11 weeks new menu for both stores, Acomb store comes into our ownership and Easter looming.(Another Gulp)…
